Ashley has worked in numerous areas of the fashion industry including editorial, catalogue, runway, commercial, television and film. In February 2016, Ashley made history as the first size 14 model to ever be featured on the cover of Sports Illustrated Swim. In January 2018, she became a brand ambassador for Revlon, making her the first curvy model of her generation to receive a major beauty contract.

    Ashley has been featured on the covers of Vogue, British Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar UK, Cosmopolitan, SELF, New York Magazine, Maxim and many more. She has received numerous accolades for her work, including Forbes’ coveted “30 Under 30” list and cover feature; Glamour’s “Woman of the Year,” with Mattel simultaneously creating a one-of-a-kind Barbie in her likeness; People’s “25 Most Intriguing People of the Year”; Time’s “100 Most Influential People in the Word”; The Daily Front Row’s “Fashion Force of the Year,” and is the United Nation’s Women for Peace Association’s first “Women Empowerment Award” recipient.

    Ellen is a highly trained physiologist with a lifelong passion for health and fitness. Her desire to be on the cutting edge of fitness inspired Ellen to design “The Ultimate Workout,” which became the foundation for Orangetheory Fitness—hailed by The New York Times as an effective new plateau-busting workout. Ellen is a partner and founder of Orangetheory Fitness, and owner of Ellen’s Ultimate Workout gym in Florida.

    Inspired by her father Arthur Calandrelli, a very popular physical education teacher and coach in Niagara Falls, New York, Ellen has been motivating and training clients for over 35 years. She holds a bachelor’s degree in physical education and a master’s degree in exercise physiology from the University of Buffalo in New York.

    Before perfecting her signature workout, Ellen worked at the prestigious Bonaventure Spa when it was the main fitness retreat for the stars, and managed Williams Island Spa and The Eden Roc Spa on South Beach. She served as a TV fitness expert for six years, authored fitness columns for The Miami Herald and South Florida Sun-Sentinel and earned the title of BusinessWoman of the Year in South Florida. Through her position as fitness editor for Women’s Fitness magazine, Ellen began focusing on Pilates and opened the first group equipment-based Pilates studio in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.

    Nicole Cardoza (she/her) is an award-winning serial social entrepreneur, investor, author, magician, and public speaker making wellness accessible for everyone. Her work is dedicated to addressing racial and health inequities in the U.S. She’s the founder of Reclamation Ventures, a venture studio creating and incubating ideas for our collective well-being. It also manages the Reclamation Ventures Fund, which provides philanthropic and early-stage investments in individuals and organizations making wellness more accessible. Over the past two years, it’s granted over $350,000 in direct support to marginalized wellness leaders. Reclamation Ventures is also home to Wellemental (previously Yoga Foster), a national organization providing mindfulness training and resources to schools, and the Anti-Racism Daily, a media platform providing reporting, education, and action on dismantling white supremacy. Nicole’s first published book Mindful Moves is about mindfulness for children and was published in Spring 2021. She identifies as a queer, cisgender Black woman.

    Kika received her BFA in dance from Montclair State University.   • Jia Jiang

    CEO & Founder, Wuju Learning

    Jia Jiang is the founder and CEO of Wuju Learning, a company that trains organizations and employees to turn rejections into opportunities. He is also known as the “Rejection Guy.” Jiang’s story started several years after his career in the corporate world. He took a risk and stepped into the unknown world of entrepreneurship, which resulted in everyone’s biggest fear: rejection. This became the catalyst that set Jiang on the path to his true calling. To conquer the fear of rejection, he embarked on a personal quest and started a video blog to face “100 days of rejection.”

    Founder, SonicYogi

    Jonathan Adams started his career as a professional musician recording classical guitar and has worked on albums for Pamplin, Intersound Records, and his own label. He later co-founded the classical fusion group Montana Skies and toured with the group nationally as a performing artist for over a decade. Jonathan’s original music has also been featured on PBS and NPR, and most recently in a score for a West Virgina Public Television documentary. He also conducted a TEDx Talk about music for mental health and how he used the power of music to cure his extreme anxiety.

  • Diane Luby Lane

    Founder and Executive Director, Get Lit-Words Ignite

    Diane Luby Lane is the Founder and Executive Director of the nonprofit Get Lit-Words Ignite, a 2020 Library of Congress best practice nominee for “doing exemplary, innovative and replicable work that promotes literacy and responds to the needs of our time.” She is the creator of the Get Lit in-school curriculum that has been approved by the University of California as an "A-G" provider and is taught in over 150 schools throughout the US to over 10,000 graduates each year. In 2012 she created Get Lit’s annual 3-day Classic Slam, which she has co-produced for the past twelve years. The Classic Slam is one of the largest youth poetry competitions in the nation.

    Recently, Luby Lane served as executive producer on the feature film OUR WORDS COLLIDE, a feature documentary following the lives of five Get Lit poets in Los Angeles that premiered at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival in 2022, where it won the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) Award. She also co-produced the film SUMMERTIME, which was written by and starred 27 Get Lit poets and directed by Carlos López Estrada. SUMMERTIME opened the Sundance Film Festival in 2020 and was released to theaters across the country in the summer of 2021 becoming "certified fresh" and later iTunes "Editor's Choice." In 2006 Lane wrote and starred in a critically acclaimed one-woman show, Deep Sea Diving (AKA Born Feet First), which opened in Los Angeles and toured high schools, colleges, and detention centers with Chicano poet Jimmy Santiago Baca.

    Diane is a graduate of the Annenberg Foundation’s Alchemy + Leadership Program, a TedX speaker, a Southern California Leadership Network Fellow, a former member of Mayor Eric Garcetti’s Poet Laureate Committee, and the LA Youth Poet Laureate Committee that first selected Amanda Gorman. Her book, Get Lit Rising (Simon & Schuster), is the winner of the 2016 Nautilus Award for books that “carry a potent message and bring hope, wisdom, healing, and joy,” and she is a recipient of the prestigious Presidential Lifetime Service Award from President Barack Obama. As an actor, Diane is represented by Innovative Artists and has been the principal performer in over 25 national/international campaigns. She lives in LA with her husband, two kids, two dogs, and two cats. She is currently studying to serve her Los Angeles community as an Agape licensed Spiritual Practitioner. Currently, she is working with her team at Get Lit to build the world’s first online interactive poetry platform called Uni(verse) for youth and teachers in schools all over the world.

  • Fritz Lanman

    Chief Executive Officer, Mindbody

    Fritz Lanman is the CEO of Mindbody and formerly the CEO of ClassPass. He grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and went on to study at Yale. Fritz started his career at Microsoft, where he worked in product management and corporate strategy, and led Microsoft’s $240m investment in Facebook. Fritz began angel investing in 2010, seeding companies including Square, Pinterest, Wish, Flexport, and others. These experiences inspired him to become an entrepreneur himself, building four companies (Livestar, DWNLD, Doppler Labs, and ClassPass).

    A former athlete, Fritz used ClassPass and Mindbody’s apps to dramatically improve his cholesterol profile. After this experience, Fritz devoted his career to bringing deep tech to wellness entrepreneurs so they can better serve their customers.

  • John Motz

    Senior Vice President, Product and Engineering, Mindbody

    John joined the Mindbody team in 2020. He is a technology-savvy leader with significant experience in SMB and Enterprise SaaS software. His management philosophy includes utilizing creativity to design strategies and execute solutions that create products and services customers love. During his time at Intuit and ADP, John developed valuable experience managing global product development teams and collaborated with large local field sales teams and global channel sales organizations. As a product leader, John’s passion is to empower teams to make fast decisions based on customer and market behavior. Part of his DNA includes ensuring his teams have a learning mindset and are encouraged to fail and learn fast.

  • Zach Apter

    Senior Vice President, Consumer Revenue & Growth, ClassPass

    Zach Apter is ClassPass senior vice president consumer revenue and growth, and was formerly chief commercial officer of ClassPass prior to acquisition, where he led pricing, packaging, inventory, marketing, and business development. Previously, Zach was the head of business and competitive strategy for Google's self-driving car project and Microsoft’s global corporate strategy team. He has a 15-year track record in consumer technology, including search, communications services, digital media, marketplaces, operating systems, business productivity services, and hardware. He holds a degree in economics from Stanford University and is the author of multiple patents in the area of consumer online services.

  • Beth Leibovich

    Beth Leibovich is director of research at Mindbody and leads a cross-disciplinary research team of user experience researchers and market researchers. With over 12 years of experience working at the intersection of technology and the wellness industry, Beth is passionate about integrating research and data into developing great products that solve real customer problems. Beth has a master's from the University of Connecticut and is the co-author of a patented innovation. Outside of work, Beth is an active dog mom and a musician with dozens of original songs placed in tv shows and commercials.

  • Alexis Ufland

    She may jokingly call herself an “oldie,” but Alexis is definitely a top “goodie” in the industry. Alexis started her career with extensive international experience. Beginning with Steiner Transocean (the world's largest spa company) and Carnival Cruise Lines, she served as THE aerobics instructor. There’s a video out there with her and Kathie Lee Gifford working out...Jane Fonda would be so proud. Moving to Singapore, Alexis collaborated with a consulting firm to develop and launch new spa concepts throughout Asia. From there, she revamped a premiere destination spa in Italy before heading to Spain to consult with Marriott International. During that collaboration, Alexis built a premiere spa and fitness center in the Canary Islands. She returned to New York City in 2000, building the first medical spa in the country and helping to shape the entire medical spa industry.     Liz Clark is IHRSA's first female president and CEO in the association's 40-year history. She joined IHRSA at a critical time for the fitness industry and the association, and she's well-equipped to double down on advocacy and communication efforts. A self-described "Energizer Bunny" and well-regarded Beltway presence, Liz is focused on making IHRSA known in Washington, D.C.

    One of Liz's many career highlights was her role as executive director in the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. She served as representative for the world’s largest business federation, where she focused on trade at the state level and worked closely with former Secretary of Education Margaret Spellings. Her focus was engaging and educating both lawmakers and the business community around trade and their role in public education.

    Liz is a lifelong athlete whose commitment to fitness included rowing crew as an undergraduate at the University of Dayton, where she graduated with a B.A. in communications. She received a Master of Arts in international commerce and policy from George Mason University. Liz lives in Arlington, VA, with her husband and three children.
